Holland named VP of state group
Ben Holland, the Butler County controller, has been elected to serve as vice president of the state Association of Elected County Officials for 2019.
The association is an organization comprised of representatives from each of the statewide associations of elected county officials, including commissioners, coroners, clerks of court, sheriffs and others.
The group's mission is to increase cooperation among the many county official associations, act as a liaison between county officials and the General Assembly in Harrisburg, and recommend and promote legislation that will enhance the function of county government.
Holland, who has served as the state association secretary for the past year and a half, was initially was nominated to represent the county controller's association.
He credits Judy Moser, Butler County Register of Wills, for encouraging him to become active in the association.
Holland was elected county controller in 2013 on a platform of cutting costs.
Before his election, he was accounting manager for the Pittsburgh office of the McKesson Corp.
