Deborah Ann (Vojna) Bowser

Deborah Ann (Vojna) Bowser, 69, of Butler passed away Friday at her residence.

She was born July 30, 1949, in Pittsburgh, to George and Dorothy Peltz Vojna.

Deborah was a special-education teacher with more than 40 years of service at Intermediate Unit Number Four. She was a certified reading specialist, who impacted the lives of children with special needs with passion and integrity.

She graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and received a Master's Degree in early childhood and special education from Slippery Rock University.

She was a Catholic.

Deborah was an active lifetime member of the Butler Public Library.

She was a 46-year resident of her community.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Michael Bowser; her mother, Dorothy Vojna of Ford City; her daughter, Maggie (Nic Gaillot) Bowser of Butler; her son, Ben Bowser and his wife, Michelle, of Gibsonia; five grandchildren, Luke, Shelby, William, Eamon and newborn, Gaillot; a sister, Amy Hipple and her husband, David of Bellefonte, Pa.; her brother-in-law, David Biggers of San Diego, Calif.; and a brother, David Vojna and his wife, Linda, of Kittanning Township.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Vojna; and her sister, Annette Biggers.

BOWSER — Visitation for Deborah Ann (Vojna) Bowser, who died Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Mantini Funeral Home, 701 Sixth Ave., Ford City, where a Parastas service will be held at 7 p.m.A funeral liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 514 Ninth St., Ford City, with the Rev. John Gribik officiating.Burial will be private.
