Car hits dairy building, driver injured

FORWARD TWP — One person was evaluated for injuries Thursday after hitting the Marburger Dairy building with this car.

According to the state police report,, the accident occurred at 4:55 p.m. Thursday at the dairy on Mars Evans City Road.

George L. Giannopoulos, 54, of Cranberry Township was driving a 2015 Lexus RX 350 south through the parking lot.

According to the police report, the driver had a “medical issue” and lost control of the vehicle, causing him to drive into the building.

The vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage, according to the report, and went about five feet into the building. The building was later deemed to be secure for occupancy by fire personnel.

Giannopoulos was take to UPMC Passavant in Cranberry for evaluation with minor injuries, the report states. No charges have been filed.
