There was no head-banging this time around.

A 24-year-old Wilkinsburg man who had an outburst of rage in court sidestepped a jury trial scheduled to begin Tuesday by deciding to plead guilty to drug charges in two cases.

Appearing before Butler County President Judge Thomas Doerr, Taalibe A. Glover pleaded guilty to drug possession with intent to deliver and was markedly cooler than in a previous court appearance last October, during which he yelled at District Judge William Fullerton.

At that time, authorities had to take Glover to a conference room where he escalated his verbal tantrum by banging his head against a wall. He was returned to Butler County Prison, where the banging continued. There, authorities claim, Glover banged his head so hard that he damaged an elevator. He was ultimately confined to a padded cell where his head-banging would be mitigated by plush walls.

The drug charges to which Glover pleaded guilty on Tuesday stem from two cases — one from an arrest on Dec. 11, 2016, and the other an arrest Oct. 10, 2017. He faces a maximum of a year incarceration and a $5,000 fine. Sentencing is scheduled for next month.

In the first case, police stopped a vehicle in which Glover and Trevon M. Roberts, 24, of Braddock were in and smelled marijuana. Police said they found a bag of what they suspected was marijuana and ecstasy pills. Roberts also had his own bag of marijuana and would ultimately plead guilty to misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance Oct. 4, 2017.

While doing inventory of the car, police allegedly found a Mason jar containing 12 bags of marijuana and a plastic bottle with two marijuana buds in it.

Also in the car, police found a 9 mm pistol that was previously reported to state police as stolen. The gun had a live round in the chamber and nine rounds in the magazine, police said.

A theft charge related to the stolen gun was withdrawn as part of Glover’s plea deal.

In the second case, nearly a year later, Glover was out on bail when he was arrested again at a Butler Township convenience store. Glover was arrested after he allegedly sold 49 stamp bags of heroin on West Brady Street to a police informant with the Butler County Task Force. For the sale, Glover was initially charged with felony delivery and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Glover is facing two other pending criminal cases in Butler County in which he faces similar charges of drug possession with intent to deliver. They were filed in the court’s system on Nov. 28 and Oct. 24, 2017.
