No rush in rush hour

A five-vehicle accident during rush hour Wednesday morning caused traffic backups for several miles on Interstate 79 near the Cranberry Township line. The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. near the Wexford exit. No other information was available. A text message alert sent out by Cranberry Township just before 8 a.m. notified motorists of delays in the area. Traffic was backed up on I-79 from the Wexford exit past the Cranberry Township exit, with more backups on Route 228 to Freedom Road. The scene was cleared by 10 a.m.
