[naviga:h3]TV, electronics and waste collection set[/naviga:h3]

CRANBERRY TWP — A TV, electronics and household hazardous waste collection will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 29 in the township.

The event will be held at the Cranberry Township Public Works Operations Facility, 20729 Route 19, behind the fire station.

The collection will be conducted by ECS&R, an environmental services and recycling company based in Evans City.

There are fees for the event, including:

Household hazardous waste, 68 cents per pound

Universal waste (fluorescent bulbs, batteries), 67 cents per pound

Mercury containing devices, $6.35 per pound

All tube/CRT televisions and monitors, 55 cents per pound

All non-CRT devices and other electronics, 35 cents per pound.

Small appliances containing refrigerant, 62 cents per pound.

[naviga:h3]Medicare education event held Sept. 19[/naviga:h3]

MARS — As part of National Medicare Education Week, Sept. 15 to 21, events will be held to prepare people to make informed decisions about their Medicare coverage.

The local event is scheduled at 10 a.m. Sept. 19 at Sechler Law Firm, 183 Scharberry Lane.

Medicare experts will review the basics of Medicare, when and how to enroll and common misconceptions. They also will be available to speak one-on-one with attendees.

Walgreens workers will provide blood pressure checks and host, “Ask A Pharmacist” booths. Local UnitedHealthcare representatives will address attendees’ top questions.
