A man arrested after probation officers allegedly found him in a motel room with nearly 100 bags of heroin, cash and a stolen handgun will be staying in Butler County Prison.

After waiting 101 days in the local jail, William S. Stuteville’s request to reduce his $50,000 cash bond was denied on Wednesday.

On May 18, county probation officers tracked Stuteville, 28, of Butler to a Butler Township motel room. In his room was Elizabeth A. Walker, 22, of Clay Township, along with almost 100 bags of heroin, a stolen handgun and more than $3,000 in cash, police said.

He was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, conspiracy, receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a firearm with an altered serial number. All the charges are felonies.

Additionally, he is charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Court records showed Stuteville had three prior convictions for felony drug possession in 2017. Because of these prior convictions and the subsequent parole violation, Judge William Shaffer denied Stuteville’s reduction.
