CENTER TWP — This “sister act” was no laughing matter.

Butler County sheriff's deputies say Courtney A. Wilson, 27, of Mercer Township used her sister's name earlier this month to dodge deputies seeking her arrest on a bench warrant.

It wasn't until the deputies went to the wrong sibling's home that they realized they had been given the slip.

Wilson faces a preliminary hearing set for Sept. 25 on a misdemeanor charge of false identification to law enforcement authorities.

She remains on the lam on the warrant.

Authorities said two deputies about 10:30 a.m. Aug. 3 went to a home on Sunset Drive in Center Township looking for a man wanted on a bench warrant.

They spotted Wilson outside at the back door, according to court documents, but she immediately went inside. The deputies forced their way into the home and arrested the wanted man.

When questioned, Wilson allegedly impersonated her sister — unbeknownst at the time to the deputies. She knew that there also was a bench warrant for her, too, documents said.

The defendant even told deputies where they could find her sister. The officers subsequently went to the sister's house in Brady Township.

“She related that her sister Courtney contacted her,” documents said, “and advised she had claimed to be her (and) given her identification to law enforcement.”

The deputies went back to the Center Township home but by then the real Courtney Wilson was gone.

She is still being sought on the bench warrant, authorities said, that was issued in connection with a 2016 drug case.
