Government building earns its letters
The 20-inch high brushed aluminum letters were placed Sunday on the new blue badge attached to the county government center.
Steve Peffer of Graphics Garage in Butler used a man lift to first tape off a paper pattern showing where the letters would go.
He then drilled pilot holes before carefully placing the gleaming silver letters on their dark blue background.
West Diamond and South Jackson streets were blocked most of Sunday afternoon as Peffer and his crew installed the letters, which read “Butler County Government Center.”
Peffer will install a large county seal, also made of brushed aluminum, when he is finished creating it.
The address of the government center will be added when the remaining blue panels arrive. The address area is missing a few panels because they were gouged when received and had to be returned.
It took Peffer and his crew several hours to install the letters on the badge on Sunday.
