Thompson 103rd birthday
Clara J. Thompson of Concordia Lund Care Center, 134 Marwood Road, Jefferson Township, will celebrate her 103rd birthday with a family party Aug. 19 at the family residence.
The former Clara E. Jameson was born Aug. 20, 1915, near Petrolia.
She married the late Robert K. Thompson.
She has two children, Robert K. Thompson Jr. of Tucson, Ariz. and Larry J. Thompson of Delmont.
She also has six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was an elementary school teacher for 29 years, worked for the Butler County Board of Assistance for 7½ years and the U.S. Public Health Service, 1½ years.
She is a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Chicora, and the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees.
Her hobbies include knitting, crocheting, painting, macramé, pottery and beading.
She vacationed two or three weeks each year for 52 consecutive years at Temagami, Ontario, Canada.
