A Philadelphia man was arrested Monday in Butler, after he was allegedly found in possession of 16.3 grams of crack cocaine.

Deandre Toney Moore, 37, of Philadelphia was charged with possession with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance

He was arraigned by District Judge William Fullerton and placed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail. He is also being held on a warrant issued in Philadelphia.

Butler police were dispatched Monday to apartment 22 at 325 W. Jefferson St. for a report of suspicious activity.

Patrolman Nathan Shulik said he was met by the building owner, who had visited the apartment to fix a water leak and reported finding needles in the apartment as well as two people who don’t live there asleep on the floor, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Shulik said he saw the needles, talked to Moore and discovered he was wanted on the Philadelphia warrant.

A bag containing 28 small bags of crack cocaine weighing a total of 16.3 grams was found in Moore’s pocket while he was being searched before being arrested, Shulik said.
