After a hearing Wednesday, a man charged with burglary and trespass charges agreed to be extradited to Ohio following the disposition of his Butler County charges.

Frederick L. Dengg, 27, who has no known address, will continue to be held in Butler County Prison on the extradition detainer to Portage County, Ohio, as well as $25,000 bail stemming from Butler County charges of felony burglary, attempted burglary, flight to avoid apprehension, summary defiant trespass and disorderly conduct. The charges stem from an incident on May 6.

Dengg waived his extradition hearing before Butler County Judge William Shaffer, agreeing to be sent back to Ohio to face receiving stolen property charges after his case in Butler County has been settled.

State police filed the Butler County charges after an incident on Volkswood Drive, Center Township, on May 6. Police said a homeowner called to report that an unknown man, wearing only sweat pants, attempted to hide under and around a deck in the 300 block of Volkswood Drive. That witness reported that the suspect said he was running from probation officers. The woman pointed out to police her posted “no trespassing” signs, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

The man, who was described as shirtless and tattooed, fled before police arrived. A few hours later, police were called for a report of the same man attempting to get into a home also in the 300 block of Volkswood Drive, where a 16-year-old girl was present, court documents state.

He ran into the woods before police arrived, and was found a short time later in the woods behind a home in the 100 block of Elise Drive. Police identified the suspect as Dengg and confirmed he was wanted in Ohio.

Dengg is scheduled for a formal arraignment June 26.
