Armco Credit Union is offering $5,000 in scholarships as the beginning of a new program which is available to current high school seniors bound for full-time enrollment at an accredited college, university, or trade school in the fall of 2018.
The program will award scholarship amounts ranging from $500 to $1,000 to good-standing and high-achieving individuals.
Founded in 1935 by a group of Butler Armco Employees, Armco Credit Union has four locations, and serves more than 30,000 members and more than 130 local companies and organizations.

[naviga:h3]County symphony board sets annual meeting June 5[/naviga:h3]
The Butler County Symphony Association has scheduled its annual meeting at 7 p.m. June 5 at the symphony office, 259 S. Main St.
Anyone who was a season-ticket holder during the 2017-2018 season and has contributed $10 or more above the season ticket price is an association member.
These members are eligible to attend the meeting and elect board members and officers for the upcoming 70th season.

[naviga:h3]Seminar in Evans City to explain concealed gun law[/naviga:h3]
HARMONY — State Rep. Jim Marshall, R-14th, will host a concealed carry seminar Thursday.
The seminar will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Evans City VFW, 408 N. Washington St. The seminar is intended to promote learning about Second Amendment rights and the Castle Doctrine, according to a news release.
Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger and Sheriff Mike Slupe will be part of the presentation, and there will be a question-and-answer session.
“There are a lot of questions about our state's firearms laws, and this event will be able to answer many of those questions,” Marshall said.
