Twp. police identify injured bicyclist
BUTLER TWP — Police have identified a bicyclist injured Wednesday morning when a vehicle struck her at Meridian Road and Deer Run Drive.
Tracey Maalouf, 50, of Butler was flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh following the wreck about 8:45 a.m.
Emergency crews said the woman suffered facial and leg injuries but her condition was not available Thursday.
Butler Township police said Maalouf was riding her bike north on Meridian Road and was making a left turn onto Deer Run Drive where she was struck by a vehicle driven by 17-year-old Cody Reddick of Butler.
The teen tried to avoid the collision, according to a police report, but the vehicle hit the bike’s rear tire, causing Maalouf to fall to the pavement.
