[naviga:h3]Wildflower walk set at Preston Park[/naviga:h3]

Butler Township commissioners have scheduled a free wildflower walk in Preston Park for 10 a.m. July 21.

Mark Welchley will lead the 60-to-90-minute walk. He will discuss identification of wildflowers found in the park and the wildlife and general ecology of the park.

Participants will be required to walk about a mile over mostly level ground at a leisurely pace. Comfortable shoes should be worn.

[naviga:h3]Local Sheetz sells $700K lottery winner[/naviga:h3]

Two people will be splitting a $1.4 million prize, after two jackpot-winning Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5 tickets were sold Tuesday in Butler and Montgomery counties.

In Butler County, the winning ticket was sold at the Sheetz on Pittsburgh Road in Butler Township. The store earns a $5,000 bonus for selling the ticket, the lottery said in a news release announcing the jackpot winners.

Lottery officials said no one has yet stepped forward to claim the prize. Each winner will receive $700,000, less tax withholdings.
