[naviga:h3]SRU’s Myers gets all-region honors[/naviga:h3]

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University softball shortstop Kailey Myers has been named to the All-Atlantic Region second team.

Myers, who hit .419 with eight homers and 39 RBI this season, is SRU’s first all-region selection since Katie Saluga made first team in 2013.

[naviga:h3]Geist top athlete at PAC-12 meet[/naviga:h3]

Knoch graduate and University of Arizona freshman Jordan Geist was named Male Athlete of the Meet after winning the shot put and discus events at the PAC-12 Championships.

Geist won the discus with a throw of 188 feet, 10 inches. He won the shot put with a toss of 65 feet, 9.75 inches. He also placed in the hammer throw with a throw of 202 feet, 1 inch.

Gest became the first freshman in PAC-12 history to win the discus and shot put at the conference meet.
