FAIRVIEW TWP — Butler County will have its annual spring clean up day for residents from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 19 at the township park, 1571 Hooker Road.
Hazardous materials, tires, electronics, computers, TVs and appliances will not be accepted.

[naviga:h3]Mail carriers collect food on Saturday[/naviga:h3]
For one day out of the year, mailboxes won't just be for letters and Amazon purchases.
On Saturday, Butler will join a nationwide, one-day food drive aimed at helping local families and individuals.
The National Association of Letter Carriers and U.S. Postal Service are partnering with The United Way and Butler County Community Action to conduct a food drive for the city food banks.
According to the news release, city residents can place canned and other nonperishable food donations at their mailboxes Saturday. As Butler mail carriers deliver residents' mail, the carriers also will collect the food donations.
Donations also can be left beside any parked postal vehicle throughout the day or brought to the back door of Butler's Main Street post office until 4 p.m.
[naviga:h3]Blood drive, hearing screenings slated[/naviga:h3]
A blood drive and free hearing screenings will be offered from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. June 14 at the city fire station, 110 N. Washington St.
The Central Blood Bank will conduct the event, hosted by Butler City Firefighters IAFF Local 114.
Avada Hearing will provide free hearing screenings.
