Charges against a Butler woman accused of brandishing a knife and threatening a man were dismissed before her scheduled preliminary hearing Monday, after the victim failed to show up for the court proceeding.

Misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats, simple assault and disorderly conduct against Dorothy M. Littlejohn, 40, were dismissed by District Judge William Fullerton.

Fullerton cited the victim's failure to appear at the hearing as the cause of the dismissal.

Butler police filed the charges against Littlejohn after an incident at a home in the 400 block of Morton Avenue April 9.

Police said they were called three times in less than an hour, with the last call reporting that Littlejohn brandished a knife, threatened a man and ransacked the house where police found belongings thrown from an upstairs window onto the driveway and a busted bottle of hot sauce on the floor, which Littlejohn allegedly had in her hand when threatening the man. No injuries were reported.
