Concordia acquires facility in Tampa

JEFFERSON TWP — Concordia Lutheran Ministries purchased a continuing care retirement community in Tampa, Fla., making it its first facility not in Pennsylvania or Ohio.

Concordia announced the purchase of St. Joseph's John Knox Village of Tampa Bay Tuesday.

The Florida facility will now be called Concordia Village of Tampa. It was part of the BayCare Health System and St. Joseph's Hospital, which was founded by the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany. The Village of Tampa has 247 independent living apartments, 163 skilled nursing and rehabilitation units, 144 assisted living units and 26 memory care units.

With the addition of the Village of Tampa, Concordia now has 911 independent living units, 1,158 personal care or assisted living beds, 742 skilled nursing beds and 26 hospice beds. Concordia has more than a dozen facilities throughout Western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio.
