MONROEVILLE — Butler Cubs boxer and Knoch graduate Steve Mowry dropped a unanimous decision to Sonny Conto of Philadelphia in their Pennsylvania Golden Gloves heavyweight championship bout Saturday night.

Both fighters weighed in at 218 pounds. Mowry fell to 13-3 as an amateur while Conto improved to 41-2.

Mowry is hopeful of landing a fight on the May 12 amateur boxing card at the Butler Cubs Hall.
