SARVER — Buffalo Presbyterian Church, 678 Sarver Road, will host a rummage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 4 and 5.

Card, game party benefit planned

SAXONBURG — GFWC Saxonburg District Women’s Club will host a card and game party at 11:30 a.m. May 5 at St. Luke’s Centennial Hall, 310 Main St.

The event will include a soup and salad luncheon at noon and a basket raffle. Proceeds will benefit local charities and organizations.

[naviga:h3]Church to raise Lyme awareness[/naviga:h3]

SARVER — To mark May as Lyme disease Awareness Month, Zion United Methodist Church, 438 Bear Creek Road, will stage a two-mile fun run and walk May 5 to raise awareness of the disease.

Registration will be at 8 a.m. and the two-mile event will begin at 9 a.m.

Proceeds benefit Lyme-disease.org for further research and awareness.

PENN TWP — The Penn Township Volunteer Fire Department will have its second Tool Bash from noon to 6 p.m. May 5 at the Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport, 473 Airport Road.

In addition to tool and cash giveaways, there will be food, beverages, side raffles and 50/50 games.

[naviga:h3]Concordia slates fishing derby[/naviga:h3]

JEFFERSON TWP — Concordia Lutheran Ministries will host a free fishing derby for children 14 years old and younger from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 5 at Saxony Farm Estate, 130 Addy Boy Lane, Saxonburg.

Concordia will provide bait, a few fishing rods to borrow (participants should take their own if they have one), hot dogs and refreshments, prizes and parking.

The event is free. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
