MARS — The Mars Public Library, 107 Grand Ave., will offer the following programs:

1 p.m. Wednesday, “Conquer Your E-Book Borrowing Fears:” This will be a one-hour introductory course on borrowing e-books from the library. Registration is required. To register, call 724-625-9048.

10 a.m. April 21, Daddy Daughter Day: Salon owner and stylist Allison Kennedy will walk fathers through styling their daughters’ hair. Take a hair brush. Other supplies will be provided. 1 to 3 p.m. April 21, “Oil Spill Pollution Science:” The program is for children in kindergarten to sixth grade. Registration is required. To register, call 724-625-9048, sign up at the library or email cboland@marslibrary.org.

EVANS CITY — Westminster Church Preschool, 330 E. Main St., is accepting applications for the 2018-2019 school year for three- to five-year old children.

The three-year-old program gives students the opportunity to develop skills to help them succeed in a school setting.

The four- and five-year-old program includes all academic concepts and social skills necessary for kindergarten success.

[naviga:h3]Human Services seeks poster entries[/naviga:h3]

The Butler County Human Services Drug and Alcohol Department is organizing a poster contest for students to creatively express their opinions on substance abuse.

The Respect Starts with Me contest is for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

The poster submission deadline is April 30. Winning entries will be printed in a calendar distributed by the Butler Eagle.

Send scanned copies of posters to agall@co.butler.pa.us. or deliver the posters to Butler County Human Services in the County Government Center, 124 W. Diamond St.

[naviga:h3]Tea with fashion show scheduled[/naviga:h3]

Tickets are available for the Catholic Daughters of the Americas 2018 Spring Tea, Luncheon and Fashion Show from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. May 5 at the Butler Country Club, 310 Country Club Road.

The event also will include a basket raffle, door prizes and vendors.
