Mars Area High School students will present the musical, “Willy Wonka,” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the high school auditorium. MARS — Mars Area High School students will present the musical, “Willy Wonka,” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the auditorium, 520 Route 228.

Tickets are $10 per person. Tickets will be for reserved seating for each evening performance and for general seating only for the matinee. Advance ticket sales in the high school main office end today. Any remaining tickets will be available for purchase at the door before each performance.

The show, based on the book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” by Roald Dahl, follows the enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka (Braeden Rawa), who stages a contest to win a free tour of his chocolate factory. Among the five winners are four insufferable children and the likable Charlie Bucket (McKenzie Hutchison), all of whom tour the factory and must learn to follow Mr. Wonka's rules or suffer the consequences.

The music director is Jennifer Kennedy. Art and stage directors are Sue and Randy Kaminski.

Charlie Fassinger is the line director. Liz Brady is the choreographer, while Rachel Kaminski is the assistant choreographer.

Eva Shterengarts, Amanda Chizmar and Zachary Ottenweller are student directors. Jasmine Williams and Leah Yendell are assistants.
