Stanley J. Czzowitz
Stanley J. Czzowitz, 85, of Butler passed away Thursday at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
Born June 21, 1932, in Saxonburg, he was a son of the late Peter and Mary L. Mostowy Czzowitz.
He worked at Butler Armco Works as a finishing and slitter operator, retiring in 1994 following 43 years of service.
He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
He was on the board of directors at Highfield Community Center. Stan was happiest behind the wheel of a tractor while tending to the ball fields at Highfield, tilling gardens as well as plowing driveways in the neighborhood. He also played Santa at the center's events, family parties and his grandchildren's school.
He was a member of Butler Armco Employee Association and chairman for the Butler Armco summer activities for many years. Stan also called the bingo games for over 50 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 778 and Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Surviving are three sons, Wayne (Debbie) Czzowitz of Slippery Rock, Paul (Tonya) Czzowitz of Louisville, Ky., and Gary Czzowitz of Butler; five daughters, Zoe Ann Fuqua, Shari McDonough, Jennie (Scott) Straynick, Marie (Brian) Collins and Laura Czzowitz, all of Butler; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Patty Mook of New Castle; and his beloved best friend of 18 years, Hattie Mittica.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Z. Czzowitz, whom he married Feb. 15, 1958, and who passed away April 9, 1998; a sister, Katherine Feicht; and his three brothers, Thomas, William and James Czzowitz.

Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday from St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler, with the Rev. Anthony R.
