ANNVILLE — Lauren Decker of Grove City was named to the Middle Atlantic Conference’s Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Decker is a graduate of Grove City High School. She is a member of the women’s cross country team and studying for a doctor of physical therapy degree at Lebanon Valley College.

MARS — Mars School District freshmen Mia Ola and Jon Williams, eighth-graders Bailey Ignosh, Madalyn Kinghorn, John Kiewall, Allison Lemasters, Olivia Love, Gillian Porter and Olivia Rihs; and seventh-grader Ava Lockette were selected by solo audition to participate in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Junior High District 5 Chorus Festival.

The students performed in choirs for their grade levels during a concert on Friday.

MARS — Members of Mars High School’s Future Business Leaders of America chapter recently placed at the 2017-2018 FBLA Regional Leadership Conference.

The team of senior Ashley Parham and juniors Alexis Bonifate and Anastasia Bonifate earned second place in the marketing competition and the team of seniors Luke Diel, Jonathan Knotts and Chase Reck took second place in the global business event.

Freshman Andrew Riska received third place in the introduction to financial math competition; junior Matthew Olsen received sixth place in accounting 2; sophomore Zachary Ottenweller, earned eighth place in sports and entertainment management; and junior Dustin Bauer, placed ninth in accounting 1.

Riska, along with the team of Parham, Alexis Bonifate and Anastasia Bonifate and the team of Diel, Knotts and Reck, qualified for the 2017-2018 Pennsylvania FBLA State Leadership Conference in April in Hershey.

FBLA helps students enhance their leadership abilities and prepare for business-related occupations.
