Tortorea 90th birthday
Lorraine Tortorea of Butler celebrated her 90th birthday with a surprise family luncheon hosted by her daughter, Cindy Simpson, at Anna Marie’s Winery and Cafe in East Butler.
She was honored with a Commissioner’s Proclamation declaring Dec. 19 as Lorraine Frances Tortorea Day. It was presented by County Commissioner Kevin Boozel.
She also received more than 70 birthday cards from a card shower.
The former Lorraine Frances Steighner was born Dec. 19, 1927, in Herman. She married the late Robert Tortorea.
She has two children, Cindy Simpson of Lyndora and Michal Mudrick of Butler; and three step-children, Bob Tortorea of Butler, Laverne Trenz of Pittsburgh and the late Lynn Chervenak.
Mrs. Tortorea retired from Bell Telephone and from Sunnyview.
She is a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
