Henry Robert Schrecongost
Henry Robert Schrecongost, 94, of Fenelton died Monday at home.
He was born July 22, 1924, in Numine, Pa., and was a son of the late Burton John and Nellie (McGaughey) Schrecongost.
Mr. Schrecongost was a laborer at Logan Clay Products, as well as in farming. He also worked for Evangelist Dusty Rhoades for several years.
He was a member of Butler Baptist Temple, now known as New Testament Baptist Church, since 1961. He had served as a deacon for several years and as a Sunday school teacher for 23 years.
He loved reading his Bible and listening to gospel ministers on the radio and television, and serving the Lord. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and most of all, spending time with family.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 73 years, Evelyn A. (Hollenbaugh) Schrecongost of Fenelton; his sons, Robert E. Schrecongost of Fenelton and Henry “Verne” (Deborah) Schrecongost of Chicora; his daughters, Barbara J. Schrecongost of Fenelton, Carolyn (Walter) Mazar of Butler and Marlene (Charles) Twentier of Fenelton; his grandchildren, Randy and Brian Schrecongost of Butler, Ron (Jessica) Twentier of Harrisville, Jennifer (Matthew) McCorkle of Sarver and Jessica (Kyle) Smith of Saxonburg; and his great-grandchildren, Gracie Smith, Colton and Mallory Twentier and John Henry McCorkle.
Also surviving are his brother, Walter (Dorothea) Schrecongost of Fort Myers, Fla.; a sister, Agnes Roofner of Waynesburg, Pa.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Donald Leroy Schrecongost; and a brother, Laird Schrecongost.
SCHRECONGOST — Friends of Henry Robert Schrecongost, who died Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at F.
