Jacqueline (McGrady) Rogers
Jacqueline (McGrady) Rogers, 89, of Butler passed away Saturday at VNA Inpatient Hospice.
She was born Oct. 4, 1928, in Butler, the daughter of the late Ralph T. McGrady and the late Mary (Halasy) McGrady.
Mrs. Rogers was a 1946 graduate of Butler High School. She then worked for Hoffman Auto Parts from 1946 until 1957. In 1977, she started work as a caseworker for the Butler County Assistance Office, and put in 14 years of service before retiring in 1991.
Jacqueline is a former 50-year member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and a former member of Meridian Women's Club. She was inducted into the Voter Hall of Fame in 2011. Mrs. Rogers was a member of Butler Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, AARP, PARSE, Tanglewood Center and Meridian Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed traveling, card clubs, baking cookies and attending movies and musicals.
She is survived by her two sons, the Rev. William L. Rogers and his wife, Nancy, of Greenville, Pa., and Robert L. Rogers and his wife, Karen, of Overland Park, Kan.; five grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; two step grandsons and their wives; six step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandsons; three sisters, Mary E. Walter of Grove City, Judith Pennington and her husband, Edward, of Palmetto, Fla., and Barbara Hartzell and her husband, Jeffrey, of Butler; one aunt; and a number of nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward D. Rogers, whom she married April 21, 1951, and who passed away Sept. 2, 1991; and one sister, Doris Vanetta.
ROGERS — There will be no public visitation for Jacqueline McGrady Rogers, who died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Meridian Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave, Butler, with the Rev. Stephen Franklin, officiating.Arrangements are being handled by Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
