Ward W. Trostle Jr.
Ward W. Trostle Jr., 95, of Cranberry Township, formerly of Butler, passed away Friday at Sherwood Oaks.
He was born April 11, 1922, in Swissvale, to the late Ward W. Trostle Sr. and the late Evelyn Thomas Trostle.
Ward was the owner of Trostle-Oldsmobile-Toyota-Dodge-Jeep in Butler, retiring in 1995.
In World War II, he served as a captain in the Army Air Corps in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska. Ward was a member of the Lions Club, Butler Country Club and served on various boards. He enjoyed golfing.
Ward is survived by his wife, Georgia Bauman Ford Trostle, who he married in 2002; two sons, Robert (Darlene) Trostle Sr. of Cranberry Township and David (Linda) Trostle of Freedom, Pa.; one daughter, Lynn (Larry) Sekel of Lancaster, Pa.; six grandchildren, Sarah Trostle, Katy Roscow, Robert Trostle Jr., John “Jay” Sekel, Brian Sekel and Alexa Sekel; three great-grandchildren; one brother, John (Ethel) Trostle of Sewickley, Pa.; one stepson, Timothy Ford of Denver, Colo.; three stepgrandchildren, Will Ford, Tim (Alice) Ford and Captain Tracy (Mario) Vargas, Md., U.S. Army; and one niece.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by first wife, Mary L. Trostle, who died in 2001; and one niece.
TROSTLE — Friends of Ward W. Trostle Jr., who died Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, will be received 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.
A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Paul Cooper, rector of All Saints Anglican Church of Cranberry Township, officiating.
Officers and members of the American Legion Post 117 of Butler, American Legion Post 778 of Lyndora and the VFW Post 249 of Butler, will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
Entombment will take place at Butler County Memorial Park.
