The City of Butler incurred overtime costs of a little less than $15,000 during the recent Butler Italian Festival.

About $9,000 of overtime pay went to the city’s fire department, while nearly $3,000 went to the police department and a combined $3,000 went to the parks and streets departments.

The city will receive a grant of $5,000 from the Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau.

County Festivals LLC, which ran the festival, paid for 25 percent of the overtime costs, which was more than $3,000.

This leaves the city with a little less than $7,000 to pay from its budget.
