The Evans City/Seven Fields Regional Police Department has arrested a Butler man for drug possession after he was pulled over earlier this month.

Robert Adams III, 27, is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after police found eight stamp bags filled with heroin in his car along with a syringe and two empty stamp bags.

He is currently being held in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.

Arresting officer Brian Mazzanti first stopped Adams for driving under suspension on Sept. 20 in Evans City.

“After issuing Adams the citation he was asked if there were any illegal items in his vehicle,” Mazzanti said in his report. “Adams replied, ‘no there was not.’”

Adams then gave Mazzanti permission to search his vehicle.

During the search, Mazzanti found the eight stamp bags with heroin inside, two empty stamp bags and a syringe.

Mazzanti then took Adams to the Butler County Prison.

Adams will be formally arraigned Nov. 7.
