JEFFERSON TWP — State police have released the names of the drivers in a head-on crash Friday that killed an elderly woman.

Investigators said Stanley Langston, 89, of Cabot was stopped on Bonniebrook Road at Route 356 in Jefferson Township about 11:55 a.m. when he drove into the intersection to turn left onto Route 356 south.

At the same time, according to a police report, a car driven by Hannah Holmes, 26, of Cabot was northbound on Route 356 and going around a slight bend in the road.

Langston's 2011 Ford Fusion and Holmes' 2014 Nissan Maxima collided. Langston's wife, 87-year-old Marjorie L. Langston, 87, a front-seat passenger, was critically injured.

A medical helicopter landed in the rear parking lot at nearby Penn United Technologies and flew her to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, where she later died of her injuries in the crash, authorities said.

Police said she and her husband were both wearing seat belts. Stanley Langston was not hurt.

Holmes, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries to her forehead, right arm and leg, police said. She was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital.

Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Department and Saxonburg Ambulance assisted at the scene.

Both cars sustained front-end damage and had to be towed.

Police said Stanley Langston was cited for careless driving.
