JACKSON TWP — Supervisors met Thursday to begin an open hearing and to approve preliminary plans for developments on Tomlinson Drive.

The board began by hearing about ABC Transit’s application for a public garage and parking lot on Evans City Road for school bus operations including parking, maintenance and training.

ABC Transit plans to arrange the lot so that buses exit onto Magill Road. They also will provide employee parking which will be separate from the bus areas and which will exit onto Route 68.

The buses would serve the Seneca Valley School district.

“That lot has been an eyesore for quite some time,” said Alan Osterwise, vice chairman of the Jackson board of supervisors.

ABC plans to secure the lot with fencing and a lockable gate to keep out intruders.

The hearing remains open and will continue Oct. 9 at the Jackson Township Municipal Building on Magill Road.

The board also approved the plans for the Al Neyer Architects Flex Space Development on Tomlinson Drive. The structure will be a 220,000-square-foot, multi-tenant warehouse building that will lease space to companies around the area, said Brandon Snyder, vice president of real estate development at Al Neyer.

At the meeting, Al Neyer representatives explained the extensive care taken to address any concerns about drainage and water management, including a pond to store excess water.
