ALLEGHENY TWP — The public is invited to a state Department of Transportation open house from 5 to 6 p.m. Oct. 5 at the township municipal building, where the plans to replace a bridge over Lowrey Run will be displayed.

Preliminary information on the project’s status, schedule, design and right of way acquisition will be available at the open house.

The bridge carries Route 268 over Lowrey Run just southeast of the Emlenton Bridge over the Allegheny River.

A PennDOT news release said anyone with historical knowledge of the area or those who have comments on the historical impact of the project are encouraged to attend.

The open house format allows those interested in the project to browse the plans at their own pace and ask PennDOT officials questions.
