A Callery man was sentenced to the county Intermediate Punishment Program in Butler County Court on Thursday, after being charged in a high-speed chase in January.

Jeffrey W. Lollo, 22, was sentenced to a total of 42 months in the Intermediate Punishment Program with 100 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring by Judge William Shaffer.

He was ordered to pay a $1,055 in fines, complete a drug and alcohol assessment and complete 60 hours of community service, after previously pleading guilty Aug. 16 to felony fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, misdemeanor driving under the influence and summary speeding.

Lollo was initially charged with fleeing and misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest, drugged driving and three traffic violations after an incident on Jan. 29.

The incident began on Route 19 north, when a Cranberry Township police officer saw the driver of a vehicle rev his engine and yell something to the driver of a car next to his at a red light at the Rochester Road intersection. The vehicle then turned left and pulled over, and the officer pulled behind. Police said the driver, identified as Lollo, admitted to smoking marijuana earlier, but when the officer asked him to step out of the car, he sped away, prompting the chase.

The pursuit continued onto Unionville Road, where the suspect momentarily turned off his lights, and speeds above 85 mph were clocked. The vehicle made it back to Route 19, headed south, before turning west on Rochester Road, reaching speeds nearing 100 mph, police said.

Officers continued the pursuit until the vehicle smashed a sign along Rochester Road and a wooden post and sign at a nearby real estate office.

Police then went to Lollo's home, where he tried to escape out a window, prompting a foot chase, before he was arrested.

Bail was set at $50,000, but was later reduced to $5,000 unsecured, and he was released.
