'Little Shop of Horrors' shows its quirks at Comtra

Robby Yoho portrays Seymour in Comtra Theatre's production of “Little Shop of Horrors” opening Friday at the theater on Route 19.

CRANBERRY TWP — Science fiction musical comedy “Little Shop of Horrors” opens Friday at the Comtra Theatre, Route 19.

In the musical, a meek floral assistant, Seymour, stumbles across a new breed of plant he names “Audrey II,” after his coworker crush.

The foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivorous plant promises unending fame and fortune to the down-and-out Seymour as long as he keeps feeding it — blood.

The hilariously absurd story features songs such as “Skid Row,” “Somewhere That’s Green,” “Suddenly Seymour” and, of course, “Little Shop of Horrors.”

The quirky musical will go on at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays from Aug. 4 through 19.

Tickets are $15, available online at TicketLeap.com.
