[naviga:h3]Essay contest’s deadline nearing[/naviga:h3]

Aug. 11 is the deadline to submit an entry for NexTier Bank’s “Sponsor-a-Teacher” essay contest.

The contest assists local teachers with school supplies for their classrooms.

Essays can be contributed by local educators and others who wish to write in appreciation of a specific teacher.

Although the winner may not be a teacher, the teacher specified on the entry form will receive the gift card.

Essays will answer the question, “If you were stranded on a deserted island with your students and can only bring three school supplies, what would you bring and why?”

Entries will be accepted at www.nextierbank.com or at NexTier branch locations. The winners will be announced on or about Aug 16.
