Outdoor performances of two original one-act plays by playwright and Butler native Don Orwald are planned for August in Preston Park, 415 S. Eberhart Road, Butler Township. The first script deals with the creation of the Jeep and is set in Butler in 1940. The second script deals with the Monument Men, the soldiers chosen to find and preserve art stolen by the Nazis. The shows are at 2 and 4 p.m. Aug. 5 and 2 p.m. Aug. 6. Take seating. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the gate. Visit www.eventbrite.com (search Don Orwald Arts Initiative). This event benefits the Mary Jo Mohn Covert Scholarship Fund at Butler County Community College and future DOAI projects.

Hobnob Theatre Company presents “Twelfth Night” by Shakespeare at 6 p.m. Aug. 12-13 and 19-20 at Preston Park, 415 S. Eberhart Road, Butler Township, and Aug. 26-27 at Zelienople Amphitheater, 402 E. Beaver St., Zelienople. Tickets are $10 on the day of the show.

Comtra Theatre, Route 19, Cranberry Township, presents Ed Bailey and Day Bracey from Drinking Partners as hosts to comedians on Friday and Saturday. The event is BYOB but will include free mead and beer samples. Tickets are $25 at Comtratheatre.ticketleap.com or $28 at the door. “Little Shop of Horrors” will be staged Aug. 4 to 19.

Freeport Theatre Festival presents “Fallen Angels,” a comedy directed by Marushka Steele, at 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Steele Farm, 2498 White Cloud Road, two miles south of Freeport off Route 356 in Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County. Tickets are $15 for general admission and less for senior citizens, members of the military and students. Call 724-295-1934.
