Lenora Brown Embroski, 91, formerly of Butler, died peacefully in her sleep Sunday at her home in Oakton, Va.

Born in Bonavista, Newfoundland, Canada, she was predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Elizabeth Ford Brown of Bonavista; her brother, George of Bonavista; her sisters, Carrie Kooi of Sacramento, Calif., and Rhoda Andrews of St. John's, Newfoundland; and her beloved husband of 64 years, John Embroski of Butler, whom she met in 1950 while working for the U.S. government at Argentia Naval Air Station and Fort McAndrew in Newfoundland.

Lenora was a military wife and homemaker who enjoyed family, friends and travel. She lived abroad for 28 years with her husband and traveled extensively throughout Europe and the Middle East before returning to the United States. She is survived by her brother, Ben Brown, of Ontario, Canada; and her son, Paul, and his wife, Karen, of Oakton; and her four grandchildren, Lauren, Nicholas, Allison and Erin of Oakton.

Lenora was loved by all who knew her and will be missed.

EMBROSKI — Friends of Lenora Brown Embroski, who died Sunday, May 14, 2017, will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian. The Rev.
