Swift 50th anniversary
James E. and Catherine C. Swift of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with their family at Clifford’s Restaurant. They had an anniversary celebration at the Grand Floridian Hotel at Disney World earlier this year. They also are planning a trip to Toronto, Canada, and the Prince-of-Wales in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Swift married the former Catherine Conchita Bello on June 3, 1967, at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
They have three children, Samantha M. Swift of Butler; Mark A. Swift of Butler; and Stephanie M. Swift of Greensburg.
They also have three grandchildren.
Swift retired from La-Z-Boy Furniture Corp. as a manufacturer’s representative in 2006. Previously, he worked as an educator in the Butler School District and in retail sales and management with Kerr’s Furniture.
Mrs. Swift was the in-store decorator, furniture and accessory buyer and designer for Kerr’s Furniture for 30 years. She retired in 2009. She is a freelance decorator and designer.
The Swifts enjoy spending time with their family, especially the grandchildren. They enjoy traveling and wintering in Cape Coral, Fla. They also support the Catherine and James “67” Swift Scholarship at Slippery Rock University.
The Swifts are members of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
