Wilma G. Painter Pfeifer

Wilma G. Painter Pfeifer, 93, of Butler passed away Saturday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.

She was born Aug. 12, 1923, in McKeesport, to the late Byron D. Painter Sr. and Dorothy Hammer Painter.

Mrs. Pfeifer was a member of the Nixon United Methodist Church and also sang in the church choir. She was an Avon representative for 22 years and upon retirement became a homemaker. She was a member the American Legion Post 778 Auxiliary. Mrs. Pfeifer was a life member of the American Ex-POW organization. She liked bingo and was an avid bowler and Pirates fan.

She survived by two sons, Raymond E. Pfeifer Jr. and his wife, Arlene, of Mars and Lance E. Pfeifer and his wife, Leslie, of Butler; three daughters, Sandra Mickey and her husband, James, of Butler, Lisa J Pfeifer of Butler and Lori J. Pfeifer of Butler; four granddaughters, Stacey George and her husband, David, Shannon Czzowitz and her husband, Greg, of Fairfax, Va., Chelsea Matis and her husband, Adam, of Butler and Hannah Pfeifer; two great-grandsons, Dade Ryan George and James David George; two great-granddaughters, Abigail and Caroline Czzowitz; one brother, Byron Painter Jr. of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Alice Laverick of Clairton, Pa., and Marion Harrington and her husband, Jack, of South Park, Pa.; one sister-in-law, Laura Painter of Monroeville, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Pfeifer, who she married Aug. 11, 1945, and who died Aug. 27, 2007; one brother, Boyce Painter; and three sisters, Lois Lauritzen, Mariette Pearson and Dorothy DeVault.

PFEIFER — Friends of Wilma G. Painter Pfeifer, who died Saturday, April 22, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Glenn Kohlhepp of the Nixon United Methodist Church officiating. Private burial will take place at the Butler County Memorial Park.
