BUTLER TWP — The leaking gas main that caused early dismissal Tuesday at Butler Senior High School has been fixed, Butler School District acting Superintendent William Pettigrew confirmed.

Classes resumed today.

The school was evacuated Tuesday morning due to the leaking gas main, and students were taken to Butler Intermediate High School. Pettigrew said this morning that a malfunctioning valve on the gas line, as well as a portion of the line itself, had been replaced by utility workers Tuesday night.

High school students were dismissed from the Intermediate High School at 10:15 a.m. and were bused home.
