Judge on mend after snowmobile accident
Butler County Court is shuffling assignments while Judge Marilyn Horan recovers from a snowmobile accident.
County President Judge Thomas Doerr said Horan sustained multiple injuries in the accident, which happened around the Christmas-New Years holidays.
Doerr took over Horan’s motions court duties while other county judges spread around other work.
Some cases were postponed.
“We continued them,” Doerr said.
He said a senior judge could be brought in if necessary, but Horan was caught up with her trial work when the accident occurred.
Doerr said Horan is trying to return in a few weeks.
“She’s a tough person,” he said.
Doerr said Horan would be back as soon as she is able due to her dedication to the court.
“She’s demonstrated her devotion,” he said.
Doerr said Horan already is doing paperwork remotely.
