Bridge closure will cause delaysBRISTOL — The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and the New Jersey Turnpike authorities say the closure of a major interstate bridge over the Delaware River will likely cause “extreme” delays for commuters.Officials have said it will be two weeks before engineers fully understand how badly damaged the bridge is connecting Bucks County on Interstate 276 to Burlington Township in New Jersey.Workers with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority spotted a crack in a truss last week.

Customer tries to intervene in robberyCONNELLSVILLE — Police are looking for an armed robbery suspect who ran away from a store after a customer intervened and tried to wrestle him to the ground.State police from Lemont Furnace say the masked suspect entered the Breakneck Market in Bullskin Township about 5 p.m. Sunday.The man customer entered the store as the clerk was handing over cash. Police say the customer tried to stop the robber, who pulled a pistol during the scuffle and ran away.

Inmate pleads guilty in murder plotINDIANA — A state prison inmate has pleaded guilty in a murder-for-hire plot foiled by an undercover police officer.Gregory Rouzer, 49, pleaded guilty Friday to conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.Prosecutors dropped counts of criminal solicitation to commit homicide and criminal conspiracy to commit homicide. Rouzer’s girlfriend, Laraine Patterson, faces trial next month on those charges.
