JACKSON TWP — For the first time, Seneca Valley’s 9-12 Reading Competition Teams placed first, second and third at the Butler County Interscholastic Reading Competition held at the Seneca Valley Intermediate High School.

The first place team, Book, Line and Sinker, included Anna Feng, Ryan Lipscomb, Cassie Kirsch, Kara Ristey, Katie Bablak, Savannah Glover, Claire Schawalder and Jake Lippold.

The team is a division of the Library Club at the high school. The goals of the club are to promote participation in reading competitions, provide community service and assist at the high school libraries.

BEREA, Ohio — Kacey Faix of Cranberry Township was part of the cast and crew from Baldwin Wallace University that recently staged Tony Kushner’s “Angels in America, Part Two: Perestroika.”

Faix, a graduate of Seneca Valley High School majoring in theatre acting and directing, served as assistant director for the production.
