SLIPPERY ROCK — Joshua McCoy, a Freeport High School sophomore, was chosen by the Bartramian Audubon Society, an affiliate of the National Audubon Society, for its 2017 Gene and Joanne Wilhelm Scholarship.

The scholarship will support his participation at the Coastal Maine Bird Studies for Teens program at Hog Island Audubon Camp in June. More than 50 Audubon chapters and 10 other organizations competed in this year’s program.

Joshua enjoys studying, photographing, drawing and painting birds. He hopes to become a wildlife biologist.
