BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

Chrisann Green will provide special music Sunday at Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68.

During October, Pastor Appreciation Month, congregation members will sign up to pray throughout one day, give a monetary offering or prepare dessert for one meal. CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

The youth group of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will meet at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Christ’s Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave., has canceled Sunday’s pickup basketball game.

The Monday night Bible study has been moved to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

Ione Mathias and Karen Swanson will lead the Seekers class at 9:45 a.m. Sunday in the assembly room of Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St. They visited the SERRV organization in Maryland, which imports fair-trade goods for sale in the United States.

Alan Adams, Executive Presbyter of the Beaver-Butler Presbytery, will present a program about his experience in Alaska at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the assembly room.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., will offer “Confronting Racism” workshops from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday and on Oct. 22 and 29.

Dinner church will be at 5 p.m. Sunday in the social hall. It is a worship time combined with food, conversation and song.

GLADE RUN UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, will have the SERRV marketplace at 9:45 a.m. Sunday in the fellowship hall. The market will feature crafts, clothing, jewelry and food.

GRACE@CALVARY LUTHERAN

The church council of Grace @ Calvary Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will meet at 7 p.m. today. The fellowship and service committee will meet at 10 a.m. Friday in the ladies’ lounge.

The Golden Agers will be recognized during Sunday’s service and at a luncheon and hymn sing-a-long.

Worship for adult day program participants at LIFE Butler County will be at 11 a.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Men’s Night Out will be at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Spillway, 797 Oneida Valley Road.

Grace’s Closet, a free clothing bank, will be open at the church from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 20.

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

Pat Hovis and Don and Debbie Horstman will provide music during the Sunday worship service.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The Rev. Alan Adams, Executive Presbyter of the Beaver-Butler Presbytery, will lead the Sunday worship service of Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St.

The chancel choir will rehearse at 9 a.m. Sunday and sing during the service.

The yarn group will meet at 12:15 p.m. Sunday in the Hall Memorial Lounge.

The Senior Night Out dinner will be at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the church.

Oct. 23 is the deadline for addresses of college students and military personnel for the deacons’ care packages.

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The stewardship committee of Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, will meet to discuss the budget at 7:15 p.m. today in the office.

The Rev. William Jackson will lead both services Sunday.

The middle school and high school youth groups will meet at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Snow Farm for a day of Christian fellowship.

GriefShare will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the library.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will have a cleanup day Oct. 29 to prepare the grounds for winter.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will ordain and install deacons during the Sunday worship service.

A Blest Be the Tie That Binds Fall Service and Supper will be at 4 p.m. Sunday. The service will include a hymn sing and Communion.

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Connoquenessing, 100 Main St., Connoquenessing, will celebrate Holy Communion during the Sunday worship service with the Rev. Gary Brown.

The October Cause of the Month is ELCA Lutheran World Relief in honor of Ruth Boughton.

The church council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
