Today is your birthday but it’s not like before

Because you aren’t here with us anymore.

No cake or presents for you, just eyes full of tears.

We wish we could celebrate this day with you

So we could hear your contagious laugh and see that great big smile but,

Instead we can only take flowers to your grave

And whisper “Happy 27th Birthday” to you.
