Comtra hosts 'Zombie Prom'
CRANBERRY TWP — Comtra Theatre is hosting “Zombie Prom” through Oct. 1 at the theater-in-the-round on Route 19.
This girl loves ghoul rock ’n’ roll off-Broadway musical is set in the 1950s at Enrico Fermi High, where the law is laid down by a zany principal.
Pretty senior Toffee has fallen for the class bad boy. Family pressure forces her to end the romance, and he charges off on his motorcycle to the nuclear waste dump. He returns glowing and determined to reclaim Toffee’s heart.
History comes to his rescue while a selection of original songs in the style of ’50s hits keeps the action moving.
Those dressed in costumes for theme nights will be eligible for prizes, and dance parties are planned after the shows with theme nights. These nights include: Prom Party on Saturday, ’50s style dance party; and Zombie Homecoming on Oct. 1, zombie-inspired ’50s sock hop.
Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
