SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University’s online bachelor’s degree program ranks among the nation’s top 10, according to data published by U.S. News & World Report.

The figures, which are based on students who enrolled from 2008 to 2009, show that SRU’s graduation rate was 79.1 percent — ranking it seventh in the nation. The university was the only institution from the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education to make the list.

Amanda Yale, SRU’s associate provost of enrollment management, called the rankings a reflection of the popularity of SRU’s online course offerings.

“The populations we serve value the types of online programs we offer because of the flexibility that they provide when working school in and around their daily responsibilities of job and family,” Yale said.

The 2015 survey, called the U.S. News Short List, examined 1,750 schools with online bachelor’s degree programs.
